Arts Factory 6: Puppetry
Arts Factory 6: Puppetry ran over summer 2025. It was kindly funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
There were twelve weekly workshop sessions where group members developed skills and confidence whilst exploring different types of puppetry.
For the first half of the project the group designed and made their own sock puppets, the puppets were recorded lip syncing to group members favourite songs.
For the remaining six week's the group focussed on shadow plays. The group wrote the stories and created the characters which were then filmed. The characters were also voiced by the group.
Two stories were created which you can watch below.
An Unexpected Encounter was created by the morning group over six weeks. It follows Jimbo and Wendy as they take a walk around the nature reserve. It is a story about friendship, overcoming problems and not judging a book by its cover.
The Lion and the Panda was created by the afternoon group over six weeks. It is a story about not hiding who you truly are and the power of laughter.
