Arts Factory 4: Textile Banner Making
Arts Factory 4: Textile Banner Making was the fourth instalment of our Arts Factory project. It ran from March 2024 until April 2024.

We started the sessions by learning simple hand-sewing techniques, including running stitch, whip stitch, and back stitch. We then used what we had learned to create small pin cushions and pennants with our initials. This was to prepare us for the creation of our large-scale collaborative banner.
​
The banner showcased a central message chosen by the group, framed by a border of many squares, each designed and created by a group member to reflect their personal identity and what matters most to them.
​
The final product was a large 2m x 2m banner that read, "Autism Doesn't Have A Look."
​
We exhibited the work for two days at Longton Market in April 2024.
